About Me

I’m James Ives, a postdoctoral researcher studying how brain activity relates to attention, perception, and development, with a focus on autism and ADHD. I’m also interested in building tools for data analysis and improving open, reproducible science.

This site is a place to share my work and ideas — from research projects to blog posts on science, data, and technology.

What My Research Involves
The research focuses on real-time brain information processing using EEG to study responses to sensory stimuli. It investigates developmental differences in children at risk for autism or ADHD. The work involves data collection, analysis, and automation of processes, with EEG and computational methods applicable across various cognitive aspects.
Life Outside the Lab
Although research takes up a lot of my time, I think it’s important to keep a balance with interests outside of work. For me, that often means finding activities that give me space to switch off and recharge.
